5K Run/Walk - The course is going to be the beautifully renovated downtown of Munday. See the Centenial Park, the Charles Baker Memorial Park and more.  Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. at the MEC and the race begins at 8:00 a.m. Register at the links below or call 940-459-4121.

This event is in memory of Kole Gray. The event will be located a mile east of Goree on North side of HWY 277 (follow the signs). There will be 7 stations - walk through course. Main event - 50 bird. Jackpot rounds- 30 birds. Flush - 30 birds in 30 seconds (3 man team). 

Bus Tour of Kinder Morgan - Kinder Morgan is a CO2 plant located west of Knox City. The company has had a big economic impact on Knox County over the past five years and continues to be a driving force in the oil and gas industry. Tours are $5 and the bus will leave from the Munday Events Center at 10:00 a.m.

Hamburger Lunch - A yummy lunch will be held at the Munday Events Center from 11:30 - 1:00 p.m. All funds raised will go towards the city park project in Munday. Come join us! 

Amazing Grace Race - This event is similar to the TV show, the Amazing Race. It takes contestants all over Knox County, exposing them to some interesting places and things around the county. But, don't be slow! This is a race! Contestants are given challenges they must complete along the way before they get their clue to the next station. Teams consist of two people, but we do allow children to compete with an adult team. Or, kids who are unable to drive may compete as long as they have someone who can drive them around the county. The entry fee is $20 per team. The winning team gets a $100 prize. 

Demonstrations - This year along with the Art and Cultural Fair, there will be educational demonstrations put on by artists. They will show you fun techniques, talk to you about their art and how they do what they do. Topics will include painting, carving, calligraphy and Pinterest projects. Exact topics will be defined closer to the event. These are free to attend. 

Domino Tournament - This will start at 2:00 p.m. at the MEC.

2013 Adventure Day Information is Below

Let Knox County Amaze You


The Knox County Visioning Group wants you to let Knox County Amaze You on June 22, 2013, during their Third Annual Adventure Days event. 

The day will kick off with a 5K and 10K Run and Walk at the beautiful Truscott Brine Lake. Following that, will be the amazing grace race, guided tours of Knox County, a photography scavenger hunt, and a delicious hamburger meal.

The 5K and 10K will start at 9:00 a.m., in Truscott at the Brine Lake.  Runners and walkers will experience the beauty of the lake atop the county road that runs across the dam of the lake. This elevation lets you see the water on one side and the rugged terrain on the other. The Amazing Grace Race kicks off at 1:00 p.m. Teams of two can preregister by clicking here  or register the day of the event at the Courthouse in Benjamin. A fee of $20 includes two t-shirts and enters you to win $100. The first team to find all their clues and make it to the finish line first wins $100. Only 20 teams are being accepted. 

Tour buses leave at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. from the Courthouse. Tours will run throughout Knox County on an air conditioned bus. Tour guides will expose participants to the rich history and unique businesses of Knox County. This years locations include Truscott, Todd Leake Farms in Vera and H&R Organic Farm in Rhineland. The cost is $5 for adults and kids 10 and under are free. 

The photography scavenger hunt (teams of 2-4 people) begin at 10:00 a.m. Participants can register at the courthouse. The fee is $10 and includes two t-shirts. A $50 prize will be award to the team who has the best time and the best photos.  This year the KCVG has added a smaller area for younger participants. They will be assigned a guide to help them. 

A hamburger lunch will be going on from 11:30 - 1:30 p.m., on Saturday at the courthouse. Tickets are $7 each and all proceeds will benefit the the Knox County Visioning Group.  Lunch will be come and go until all food is gone.
